Questions about the 6 inch block
What is a 6 inch block actually for?
External and internal load-bearing walls, and general wall construction where a step up from 4 inch partitioning is needed. It's the size most contractors default to for standard walls.
Can I use 6 inch for a load-bearing wall?
Yes. At 4.5 N per square millimetre, 6 inch is built for load-bearing and external walls. For heavier structural work such as multi-storey walls, step up to 9 inch.
How many do I need per square metre?
The block face is 450 by 225 millimetres, which works out at about 10 blocks for every square metre of wall once mortar joints are counted, before you add anything for breakage. Send us your wall measurements and we will do the count with you.
What is the minimum order and how fast can I get it?
From a few hundred blocks upward. Common sizes are in continuous production so they usually move quickly, and you get a firm delivery date on your price before you pay anything.
