Questions about mild steel rounds
What is mild steel round used for?
Stirrups, ties, formwork and light fabrication. It is the steel that holds your main reinforcement in position and does the smaller jobs around a structure.
What grade and sizes do you carry?
Grade 250, giving 250 N per square millimetre, in 8, 10 and 12 millimetre. Diameter and finish are inspected before dispatch, because a stirrup that will not bend cleanly slows your steel fixers down.
How is it different from high yield rebar?
Mild steel is softer and easier to bend, which is exactly what you want for stirrups and ties. High yield at 500 N per square millimetre is the main structural reinforcement. Most jobs use both, each where it belongs.
Can I order it with my rebar?
Yes, and you should. Putting your rounds and your rebar on one delivery is cheaper than two separate trips and means your steel fixers have everything they need on the same day.
